Parentalism Makes The Grade The Essay

Where, he is taking an actual example by: showing the immediate problems facing the school system and how this approach is creating positive changes. These different elements are important, because they are underscoring the way that the cause and effect approach, is used in combination with deductive reasoning. (Will, 2008) The Impact of this Method in Supporting the Different Ideas

The impact of this approach is that Will is making very sound arguments, as he is discussing how these ideas could improve the quality of education that is being provided. This was effective at helping to illustrate how this approach is addressing one aspect of: the problem and should be embraced in the future. As a result, the information that was presented is relevant, because it helps the reader to see how other ideas could have an impact on education. Once this occurs, it means that other ideas and approaches could be examined, which can improve achievement scores without increasing costs. In this aspect, one could argue that Will is using this strategy to address the underlying challenges affecting the school system, by highlighting how this approach could help to provide a sense of accountability. (Will, 2008)

Clearly, George Will is using the cause and effect rhetorical methodology to influence the reader. This is when he is highlighting the underlying problems (as the cause) and then the overall effects that this having through deduction. In the article, the basic causes of the problem are: the challenges that are facing the education system. Yet, amid these different challenges...

Where, educators are given greater amounts of authority in determining how they can reach out to students, by enforcing certain aspects of discipline. This is important, because this is having an impact upon the children at the school by: giving them structure and teaching them how to excel academically. Once this began to occur, it would have a ripple effect upon students throughout the area. As they want to go to this school, due to the fact that it is more effective and is motivating them. To illustrate these views, Will uses the example of the 13-year-old boy who goes to the school, despite the fact that he does not qualify academically. This is important, because it shows how the causes and effects on the education system (through deductive reasoning) are having a positive impact. As this is used to highlight how some kind of shift is taking place at this school. At which point, Will is illustrating how this approach is improving achievement scores and motivation, by giving students the skills they will need to be successful. Once this occurs, the overall positive benefits of the paternalism are apparent to the reader. In this particular case, the rhetorical method is highlighting how the overall challenges in education can be addressed by: embracing the ideas of paternalism.
